There is so much to catch up on! A lot has been going on lately and it is almost time to travel to Florida! Let me update you on whats been happening...
Past...
Okay, first lets start with work. I recently decided I no longer wanted to work in the industry I was in and wanted to make a change of careers. Potentially to something in the food industry, but that is to be determined. I decided to leave my job and work on finding something that I enjoy and that is something I can do for a long time! I have been looking into different things and I have applied for a job that has some potential so we will see how that plays out!
This past week was also my birthday! Last Friday I celebrated with my family and friends with a delicious dinner, a night out on the town and a fabulous breakfast to wrap up the big day! Check out my new room!
Still working on the wrinkles ;-) |
We made wine! At my brother's house the previous owners started a massive garden including grapes for wine! We all got busy picking them and I was nominated to stomp them...clean feet & lots and lots of stomping later we had lots of juice! Now, we wait!
We are soooo obsessed with making homemade pasta!!! My mom bought a pasta machine at a yard sale and we have really been using the heck out of it. We made homemade pappardelle, fettuccine and spaghetti. We froze the fettuccine and spaghetti for later times, but made the pappardelle. We created a cream sauce with morel mushrooms and basil and grilled some shrimpies to go with...TO DIE FOR. I didn't take step by step pictures, but I can share the recipe if you want! Making pasta is easier than I thought and it is 100x better than the boxed stuff.
Future...
Florida!!! Tonight we leave for Florida around midnight or 1am. We are heading south for a Softball tournament for my brother and going to enjoy some Disney trips and I would suspect lots of time at the pool. The weekend is very up in the air since it is all focused around when the game times are. The games are all dependent upon a win/lose bracket so this is a relaxing, play it by ear kinda trip! I. Can't. Wait. :-) I need to start packing...
This homegrown watermelon is so sweet and delicious! My brothers garden keeps popping these bad boys up. Every time we go over there we see at least another 4-5 of them. Hopefully, my future includes lots of this yummy treat!
Now, tell me about your past, present and future...
