Sometimes when the scale isn't a reflection of the work and effort you've put into your recent diet and exercise habits (muscle weighs more than fat) it's nice to take notice in other small victories.
Recently I have noticed a few victories off the scale. Which, in my opinion these victories are sometimes even better than what you see on the scale. This reflects more of the progress I've made and the positive rather than what the number on the scale is telling me, whether it is good or bad.
1. Going down a pant size!!! I realize that each store can be different and all of that jazz, but this was in the same store I often shop in and have numerous pants/skirts in the higher size and now the next size down fits! Sweet!
2. Compliments from family. The other day at my Sunday softball game my grandmother commented on how she didn't even recognize me at first because I looked like I dropped a few lbs. I mean, I literally saw her a couple of days earlier. But hey, I'll take it! Thanks, Mamaw :-)
3. Working out even when I feel under the weather. This week I have been trying to fight off a cold from fully taking over my body! I am a huge believer of taking vitamins, washing hands/using sanitizer and staying healthy. I hate hate hate being sick (who doesn't?) and I am typically really good at avoiding the colds or flu's going around (knock on wood ;-) )...but this one is really trying to get me! It started with a sore throat, sneezing, sniffling, etc., but I feel like I am still trying to fight it off because it's been off and on so far. The best part about it is that I've managed to get my butt out of bed even when under the weather for two workouts so far this week. Score!
Share with me some of your scaleless victories from recently!
Are you typically one who can avoid the illnesses floating around?
