Grilled Summer Peaches with a Maple Glaze

Can you believe the unofficial last day of summer is less than a week away? To me, summer ends after labor day. It's like, the last hoorah for any fun at the pool, cookouts, and of course, the beach!

I am more than likely heading somewhere with some cool refreshing water to play in, sun rays, beautiful weather and delicious food to grill! Not too shabby of a labor day and round up of summer if you ask me! What are your plans for labor day weekend?

No matter what your plans are you should check out the recipes I've created that would be great for whatever your Labor Day weekend holds!

Don't forget to check back later this week for another recipe to try. Psssstttt it may or may not have some tequila! You'll definitely want to come back for that one, I promise!

Lets talk about peaches shall we?

I don't know about you but when I walked into the grocery store last week I could instantly smell the abundance of fresh summer peaches in the produce section. I couldn't resist picking up a few and thought about how fabulous they would be on the grill with a nice char and a warm sauce to go on top.

Top these babies with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and your family will gobble them right up!

Grilled Summer Peaches with a Maple Glaze
print this recipe

2 ripe peaches, sliced in half and pitted
simple syrup
1/4 c. maple syrup

1. Start by heating your grill over medium high heat. You really want to get a good char on the peaches.
2. Prepare a simple syrup by combining equal parts of sugar and water. The recipe will only use 4-5 tablespoons, but I recommend making a bigger batch to keep on hand. Great for quick sweetener additions!
3. Brush the halved and pitted peaches with the simple syrup and grill over medium heat for 6 or so minutes a side. Let cool.
4. While the peaches are grilling, prepare the maple glaze. Combine 2 tablespoons of simple syrup with the maple syrup in a small saute pan. Let this heat up over medium or so heat for a few minutes until it is combined and thinned out.
5. Serve peaches with a heavy drizzle of the glaze. If you want to get really fancy serve with a nice dollop of cool whip or ice cream!

Enjoy!
