Recently I was shopping at the local Harris Teeter and was in need of a quick dinner option. I was eyeing the meat case and saw a Jalapeno Cheddar Burger and knew that was it! When I got home I added a little S&P and grilled it up until it was a nice medium. Let me tell you, that was a damn good burger! I was shocked. I figured it would be just okay since it was pre-made, but man was it good. I knew I had to re-create it for myself!
Here is my version of the Harris Teeter jalapeno cheddar burger.

This recipe makes 3 medium sized burgers. Simply because there was 3 people I was feeding. You can easily make 4 smaller burgers with 1 lb. or up the ingredients. It is a pretty forgiving recipe!
1 lb. ground chuck. I used 85/15
1/4 c. pickled jalapeno slices
1/3 c. shredded cheddar cheese
3 tbsp pickled jalapeno juice
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp seasoning salt
splash of soy sauce
salt
pepper
Place ground chuck into a medium sized bowl. Chop up the jalapeno slices into a small dice and add to bowl with chuck. Add the next 5 ingredients before mixing. Gently and quickly mix the ingredients until combined. Do not over mix! This will cause the burgers to be tough. Form the mix into individual patties. Sprinkle each side with salt and pepper and a splash of soy sauce and grill over medium heat until desired doneness. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
I served these on a potato roll with a little mayonaise. They really don't need anything else! Enjoy!
